Teaser trailer main characters

The girl (Daisy) - We want to portray the connotations of pure and innocent towards Daisy, therefore she will wear a pure white dress with either neutral coloured foot wear or no shoes at all. This will prevent them taking away the meaning of the dress. Her hair will be curled to represent the stereotypical image of the ingenue in the production.

The boy (Stephen) - The image of the boy will consist of dark colours (preferably black) to keep the mystery surrounding him unknown.

Characters

We have chosen the two main characters we want to include in our production and from this we have continued to develop and evolve our narrative.

Our first character Daisy is the main girl character and she will be portrayed as very sweet and innocent. According to Vladimir Propp's seven character types she fits the role of the 'princess'. This means she is the victim within the production plus she will set the task of being rescued to the 'protagonist'.

The other main character is our 'antagonist' he represents the opposition against which the protagonist must contend and will oppose the other main character (in this case, Daisy). However we are going to produce a twist with him and constrast his character throughout our teaser trailer.

Nursery rhyme

(The sections in bold are the chosen lyrics that we believe reflect and support our narrative).

There is a flower within my heart
Daisy, Daisy
Planted one day by a glancing Dart
Whether she loves me or loves me not
Sometimes it's hard to tell

Yet I am longing to share the lot

A beautiful daisy bell
Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do
I'm half crazy, all for the love of you
It won't be a stylish marriage
I can't afford the carriage

But you look sweet upon the street
On a bicycle built for two
We will go tandem as man and wife
Daisy, Daisy
Peddling our way down the road of life
I and my daisy bell
When the roads and we both despise
Please men the lambs as well

There are bright lights in those dazzling ice
A beautiful daisy bell
Daisy, Daisy give me your heart to do
I'm half crazy, Hopeful in love with you
It won't be a stylish marriage
I can't afford the carriage

But you look sweet upon the street
On a bicycle built for two

I'll stand by you in wear or well daisy, Daisy
You'll be the bell we'll try to rip you know
You'll be the bell we all try to rip you know
Sweet little daisy bell, You'll take the lead in each trip we take
And if I dropped out, I will say here's the drink by beautiful daisy bell
Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do

I'm half crazy, all for the love of you
It won't be a stylish marriages
I can't afford the carriage
But you look sweet upon the street
On a bicycle built for two

Oh daisy, Daisy give me your answer do
I'm half crazy, all for the love of you
It won't be a stylish marriage
I can't afford the carriage

But you look sweet upon the street
On a bicycle built for two
But you look sweet upon the street
On a bicycle built for two
But you look sweet upon the street
On a bicycle built for two
For two, For two, For two, For two

The Daisy Link

We originally started out with the idea of a Daisy then tried to link the meaning to the narrative of the film. We used mise en scene to help portray the image of our theme; 'nature'.

The cohesive link of the daisy follows, as the girls name. This helps create the recurrent motif.

The third idea we have to link in the daisy is the nursery rhyme 'Daisy Bell'. The music adds a contrapuntal spin to our idea as the music will change half way through contrasting good and bad.

Mood board

From early discussion we created a mood board to display our ideas from our genre to the theme of growth. From this we decided that the image of the daisy would be the main point within our teaser trailer as the connotations of the daisy, being pure and innocent, portray the characteristics of the young girl. Brainstorming our ideas we liked the idea of using the nursery rhyme 'Daisy Bell' however changing the way the lyrics are spoken to create a tense atmosphere. In contrast we will use the music background to create the opposite atmosphere of happiness.

Final Logo Design

After looking at our experimental logos we noted that two really stood out. From this we decided to take elements of both (the trees and ivy) and combined them together to create the perfect outcome as we feel that these two images reflect our mise en scene and narrative best. We will later incorporate this design in our teaser trailer and ancillary tasks.

Production Company logo

Once we had finalised the production company name we began to create corrosponding logo designs. We used a font site 'DaFont.com' to develop a writing style that we could adapt to fit the image we were trying to achieve.

We experimented by moving the text into several different positions and from this we transformed different drawings to compliment the writing design. We used the image of the tree in our designs as it is the focal point of our narrative to represent our oragnic theme of growth and development of a warped and twisted life. However in one of the designs we removed the tree and replaced it with the image of ivy as this could represent the intertwining of love and hate.

Production Company Name

After deciding on our genre, we had to create a production company to run alongside our film. This was a difficult task as our company had to match the content in our teaser trailer, however we did not want to limit our production company just to one film. This meant that the name had to be universal yet memorable. Therefore we finally came up with the name 'Runaway Productions' which we believe fits the criteria well.
