Music

The music that we created on garage band was inspired by the children's nursery rhyme 'Daisy Bell' as we liked the idea of the child like quality juxtaposing with the subject matter. To recreate the nursery rhyme, we used a keyboard piano to easily play the notes in a sequence and set our own timing. We used single notes to create a greater impact towards the creepy atmosphere and i think this was very successful.

After establishing the note sequence, we experimented with backing sounds such as 'cloud breaks' and 'reflective strings' to match our thriller genre. The cohesiveness of the music was important as it needed to match the conventions of music in real media texts. By mixing different sounds together and repeating them we found that a slow tempo with long sounds increased the anticipation that when put with our footage, would altogether build the tension within our audience and entice them to want to watch the film when its later released.
