How cohesive are the products?I believe that after researching many promotional posters
(including my earlier powerpoints), i have a greater understanding of the effect that cohesive products have. The idea of cohesive posters is to follow the theme of the film yet attract different audiences and I think this is a great way to complement all aspects of the different marketing products.
After researching different genres, i have come to the conclusion that many films have opted for a selection of individual character posters. Many of these, i have found, are animated comedy's however all are popular, well-known characters i.e. Toy Story 3, Shrek, Alice in Wonderland. I like this idea as i think it is the most affective way to attract different audiences, especially when it comes to young children as everyone has a favourite character. I will definitely consider this when it comes to creating my own.
The cohesive colours that are used link the posters to the film itself and adds a greater impact towards the genre and to the viewer, particularly if the genre is horror/thriller (Which ours is) as the dark atmosphere can attract the audience.
Release dates and titles are the most important aspects of each poster and i feel that cohesive fonts are more memorable towards the audience rather than constantly changing styles. Furthermore, I like the idea of including rhetorical questions and star ratings/reviews about the film as it can give the audience a greater attraction towards the film as we get an insight on viewers opinions.
